WHAT IS T.P.I.
Titleist Performance Institute uses a holistic approach and innovative technologies to help golfers improve their performance. Utilizing detailed swing analysis, and science-based player conditioning, our mission is to be the world’s premier player development program.
The Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) is the world leader in studying how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible.
Titleist has analyzed how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury.
T.P.I. doesn’t believe in only one way to swing a club, instead there are an infinite number of swing styles. Using research from the world’s top golfers, they’ve broken down the golf swing into 12 major characteristics. These 12 swing characteristics have a strong relationship to a person’s physical ability to move through their golf swing efficiently.
T.P.I. focuses on what each player can physically do, rather than focusing on one right way to swing the club. This approach enables us to determine how your physical condition may affect your golf swing.
By working with us using the TPI method, we can determine how your physical movements are affecting your golf score. Understanding and correcting any physical limitations you may have will enable you to take your game to the next level.
Golfers can benefit from learning about how they can improve their movement patterns and how that can help improve their game.
During the session, you can expect a physical evaluation of the way you move. Using the TPI method we will create a baseline of your flexibility, posture, strength, and coordination.
Upon completion of your assessment, a plan will be developed for you to improve in the areas you need improvement.
Once your plan is established, we focus on proper movement mechanics.
We will establish efficient movement patterns so you can get into, and stay in, proper golf posture. This will translate into increased strength and consistency throughout your swing.
Finally, we will assess your physical movement patterns and compare them to your original baseline. Once you’re able to move more efficiently, you will have built the foundation to improve your game.
