It won’t be long and kids will be back in school, days will be getting shorter, and the leaves will be changing colors. This doesn’t mean the fall is not a good time for golf. The month of
September has a number of events starting with Night Golf on the 10th. As the month go’s on we have the Ryder Cup on the 18th. These are two of the most popular events at our club and
promise to make September a fun month!
The Ryder Cup has proven over the last two years to be one of if not the most fun events we have at OCC. We take 24 golfers and split the teams into 12. The morning play consists of 9 holes alternate shot and 9 holes of best ball. After a quick lunch we go back out and play the individual 9 hole singles matches. This is a fun day as it consists of a lot of golf and teammates that might not always play together. If you are interested in playing in this years event please contact the golf shop.
Looking for a game?
Members who are looking for a group to play with. In the golf shop do our best to pair people up, but it is challenging to find times that work for everyone. Going forward this season we will block the 1:30 time on Thursday and 9:00 time on Saturday for individuals looking for a game. If interested in either of these times please call the golf shop.

The Men’s Club Championship
This event took place the first weekend of August and we crowned Tom Smits as the Club Champion. We had eight strong players in the event and Tom beat Dan Krumrei in the finals. It was an up and down match that saw both competitors battle back and forth.

The Member-Member saw Tom Barr and Bill Carver beat out three teams by 2 points. Thank you to everyone who played as it was the biggest turnout since 2006.
