History

The Oshkosh Country Club golf course has been known for its spectacular beauty and creative design. The course originally designed by Tom Bendelow of Chicago – who created some of the finest courses in the country.

Incorporated as Algoma Country Club

Purchased Sturtevant land – now Lake Shore Municipal course

July 1902
First Professional Golfer hired – John Joy

June 1918
New nice hole course opened by the Oshkosh Country Club, successor to the Algoma Country Club at the present site

Second nine holes added

Irrigation added from tees to greens

Club house burns down

New Club house opens

Enlarged and renovated Club house opens

New drainage system completed on the golf course
